Our Educational Experience

Alongside their extensive work on building and operating urban farming systems, co-founders Stefan and Lukas are also experienced college lecturers, classroom educators, and industry mentors.

From hands-on classroom workshops, to in-farm seminars with local food banks, etobiGrow has a demonstrated, real-world capability to deliver informative and engaging educational content to audiences of all ages and abilities.

Industry Leaders

Stefan and Lukas are at the forefront of Toronto's burgeoning urban-agricultural revolution. They recently concluded co-lecturing Vertical Farming in Controlled Environments (VFRM 101) at Humber College, a 16-week hybrid lecture/in-farm series that was delivered to 6 cohorts (over 300 learners total) and covered a wide range of topics on indoor agricultural technologies and methods, including greenhouse farming.

etobiGrow continues to host fun, in-farm and on-location team building experiences for groups of all sizes.

Hydroponic Operator Training Program

Through our on-going partnership with the Parkdale Community Foodbank (PCFB), we ran recurring 4-month operator training programs for staff and volunteers, aimed at training them in the maintenance and upkeep of their own indoor farming system, which was recently installed by etobiGrow in partnership with the PCFB. Through this program, the foodbank is growing over 600 pounds of fresh produce each month, while providing the community with an opportunity to get hands-on with food production in the city.

Toronto Urban Farmer Training Program

As a leader in Toronto’s urban farming community, etobiGrow is proud to support Seneca College’s Urban Farmer Training Program as a recurring speaker and guest panelist at campus lectures and via educational workshops at our vertical farm in North York. As a panelist, we regularly join other farmers from the City to discuss key challenges and opportunities facing the industry with course participants. We provide insight and answer questions on topics ranging from marketing and land access, to business strategies and career and networking opportunities.
