Whether it's on top of a simple homemade pizza or in a fresh caprese salad, nothing compares to the taste and aroma of freshly picked Genovese basil. This classic herb is an essential part of any garden and can be easily potted and harvested year round! Basil likes to grow with tomatoes, peppers and other companion herbs.
Genovese Basil prefers full sun and 6-8 inches of space in order to grow to its fullest potential. Give it fertile soil high in nitrogen to improve leaf colour and yield. Water 2-3 times per week.
Harvest biggest leaves but don't remove too many as it will stunt growth. Pinch off tips long branches to encourage the plant to fill out.
